The season is over for them, so the game was sort of pointless - but it was a good time anyhow. We had a suite that had all the beer and wine you could drink (why do these things only come up when I am pregnant?!) and some decent food. Hot dogs, wings, chips with salsa and cheese. I have heard many say they did not need a full bladder so I drank on the way to the Dr...not nearly as much as they said. As soon as she got in there she said my bladder was empty! Whoops! But it was fine - she showed me my empty bladder which was full by the end and said the only measurement that mattered for was when measuring my cervix.<br /><br />He looked good on all accounts - ten fingers and ten toes, four chambers of the heart, yada yada yada...She could not get a good profile pic for the Dr. because his hand was always by his face so she actually spoke with the Dr before I left to make sure it was sufficient. That was cool because the Dr. looked at all of it and said there were no issues at all - no waiting to hear that! <br /><br />The heartbeat was 138 and he weighs 11 ounces and is measuring EXACTLY to his due date. Sully always measured like two weeks ahead! Once he is asleep, I move him to his bed. For naps I just let him sleep in his chair...but the naps are never long. The other day he napped in his bed and it was a nice long nap so I thought maybe it was the fact he was actually in his bed!<br /><br />So I decided to take the chair out and see if he would sleep on his bed (and therefore not wake up early). For his nap today he slept on the floor...Then tonight for bed THIS is what I found! He went in, got mad when I put him in bed, and immediately got <span style="font-style:italic;">out</span> of bed. I left the room anyhow because he NEEDED a nap. He yells at me and cries a fake cry. A few minutes later it stops ad when I checked on him, this is what I found - he didn't even get all the way in bed before he passed out! So we decided to make his convertible crib into a toddler bed. Only it turns out it goes right from a crib to a full sized bed! By Saturday all Sully could do was lay on me and sleep - he would not even eat. It spiked to over 105 Saturday night so we went to urgent care. They said he had an ear infection. By Monday morning the fever was again over 105 after 2 days of vomiting and a lot of mucous. Poor baby! The screening nurse wanted him in the ER!<br /><br />So, we get him in there and his fever was DOWN to 105 (rectally, he <span style="font-style:italic;">loved</span> that...). They ran and got cool water and cloths and we sponged him down to cool him off. They said we were lucky he did not have a febrile seizure. They said he was obviously working something else besides an ear infection through his system and wanted to do some tests. So they gave him an IV with antibiotics to jump start the healing of the ear infection and whatever else may be wrong. They gave him the IV (which he promptly ripped out so they had to reinsert it) and took blood and gave him fluids as well. <br /><br />Then it was time for the chest x-ray. Because one has to remain still for an x-ray, the machine they use for a toddler is like some Medieval torture device! It is a plastic case that the baby is placed in and it holds him still while someone holds his arms straight up in the air, then it rotates. Alan did the work with this one but I heard the screams all through the halls, it was awful! Sully did have a chance to show off his super human strength to the x-ray tech, though...<br /><br />In the end, the x-ray showed no fluid in his lungs and the bloodwork came back fine - just some NASTY virus running through his system. Poor baby.
